Thanks to the success of our 2022 mini gravel camps The Amy D. Foundation is excited to announce that we are now accepting scholarship applications to our spring 2023 Mini Gravel Camp set to run March 17-19, in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia. The camp will once again work in conjunction with sponsors Starlight Apparel, The Black Bibs and local Virginia bicycle shop Carytown Bicycle Company.
The camp is open to Femme, Trans, Women and Non Binary riders and seeks to foster the development of beginner and intermediate riders looking to elevate their skills and confidence riding off road. The camp will feature multiple days of gravel riding, team building, nutrition/ hydration plans for riding and racing, skills clinics for optimal riding on gravel and basic mechanics of gravel bikes. The scholarship will provide riders with housing and nutritional and mechanical support throughout the camp.
Riders must have working knowledge of basic bike handling and riding skills, a gravel bike or equivalent bike, the ability to complete 50-60 mile rides and be able to maintain 10-12.5 mph on gravel rides.
Additionally, riders must be vaccinated against COVID and willing to take COVID tests prior to day of arrival for camp and mask during travel and when appropriate at camp.
